Mobile QA Workspace
InvestigatingRoblox · Studio Plugin
Device presets, quick switching between them, screenshots, overlays for things like safe areas, and a repeatable way to run through the same checks each time.
This is a score we use to sort ideas, not a chance of success.
The problem
Testing on mobile is slow and scattered. Developers want to check several devices and screen sizes without redoing manual setup every time.

What already exists
We searched the Creator Store for plugins that could compete with this and looked closely at 2 of them.
This helps with testing on an actual phone, so it covers the same underlying problem. It requires publishing your game first, and does not give you a Studio side simulator with device presets, overlays or repeatable test profiles.
What might still be missing
We found a plugin that helps with testing on an actual phone, which covers part of this. We have not found a Studio side simulator workspace with device presets, overlays and repeatable checks.
Can it be built?
Studio's device simulator service lets a plugin create devices and set resolution and configuration, which covers the core of this idea.
This is our best guess from reading the public APIs, not a guarantee. Roblox can change its APIs at any time.
Commercial notes
These are guesses, not proof anyone would pay.
- Why it might be worth it
- The pain here is real and people would probably pay for it, but it is also a bigger build than most ideas on this list.
- Who it's for
- Developers and studios who ship to mobile and test it often.
- How it could make money
- Paid, and likely priced higher if it saves real QA time for teams.
- What would make it different
- Roblox already exposes a device simulator. This turns it into an actual workflow instead of just a resolution switcher.
- How much work it'd be
- The simulator APIs already exist. Most of the effort is the interface, device profiles, overlays, and making sure the simulation is actually useful.
- What could go wrong
- This depends heavily on Roblox's own simulator APIs, which could change. It also cannot fully replace testing on a real phone.
Current take
We found a plugin that helps with physical device testing, but we have not found a Studio side simulator workspace with device presets, overlays and repeatable checks. Worth asking developers before building.
This status reflects the current evidence and can change as we learn more.
